Piedras a la Luz

Scarto, the luminous protagonist transforming stone waste into sculptural art

Waste becomes high art. Scarto—Italian for "discard"—is the luminous protagonist of the collection, where irregular fragments of Lumix quartzite are reborn as a captivating, sculptural light fixture.
Rescuing the Soul of Stones

We believe that true luxury lies in sustainability and narrative. Piedras a la Luz is a collaborative exhibition by IWish, BILU, and Fiumine that challenges the concept of waste. By recovering discarded fragments of marble and quartzite from Canteras del Mundo, we transform industrial residue into sculptural luminaires.
From forgotten fragments, it breathes new life into what was once discarded, turning remnants into radiant poetry. At its heart lies Lumix, a Brazilian stone, translucent and enduring, glowing from within to unveil an ethereal dance of light and texture.

Argentine design firms IWish, BILU, and Fiumine unite to explore the intersection of matter, light, and responsibility. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration, merging distinct authorial voices under a shared purpose: to revalorize the forgotten. Together we demonstrate that high aesthetic value and environmental consciousness can coexist, creating a new standard for responsible design.
At the heart of the collection lies the tension between the raw and the refined. Pieces like the Scarto pendant and the Trazo series break away from rigid forms, utilizing irregular chunks of Lumix quartzite to create an ethereal dance of light. These are not just lamps; they are illuminated sculptures.
