Bilu at SaloneSatellite 2024

During his distinguished participation in the 2024 edition of the SaloneSatellite and Fuorisalone in Milan, industrial designer Ignacio Martínez Todeschini represented Argentina at the world's most prestigious design and interior design event.
Selected by Marva Griffin and a demanding curatorial committee, he set a lofty goal for this participation: to establish connections, to take Bilu abroad, exchanging experiences with key industry figures and immersing himself in the latest trends in design and decoration.

For Ignacio, this opportunity meant an important step in his professional growth and his integration into the international arena. He aspired to humbly represent the abundant talents in his region as a worthy and committed ambassador.
Finally, he presented Barrowhere tradition meets innovation—at the SaloneSatellite Awards.
Barro Lamp merges ancestral craftsmanship with contemporary design, inspired by pre-Columbian heritage, biodesign, and technology. Crafted through 3D printing in red clay and turned lenga wood, it revives Native American techniques using modern manufacturing.
The design process bridges the physical and digital realms, starting with a hand-molded ceramic piece that is 3D-scanned and optimized for ceramic printing. It undergoes a single 1020°C firing, preserving its raw essence. Manufactured in collaboration with Pilar Emilia Castro.
"I consider Barro as a manifesto of culture, technology, and a new vision for lighting design."
